Things seem to be getting a bit hairy, and I have decided that London is a great place to visit but living here is not for me so I'm going on holiday to rejuvenate...
So in the words of Counting Crows:

We could probably fix it if we clean it up all day
Or we could simply pack our bags
And catch a plane to Barcelona 'cause this city's a drag
I may take a holiday in Spain
Leave my wings behind me
Flush my worries down the drain
And fly away to somewhere new.

Last night I went with Hayley to watch Footloose at the Novello theatre in Covent Garden. It was the most fantastic evening! The cast sang and danced their hearts out and by the last couple of scenes the entire audience were on their feet clapping, dancing and singing along. It was wonderful.

Sarah and I have been trying to organise a trip to Turkey for over a month, eventually I got hold of this dude Ned in Turkey about going on a cruise with his company. Sarah and I decided to Skype him and find out the best way to get there and around in Turkey. The connection was terrible but we heard he had a hot voice and that started our silliness. Ned and I decided to chat using skype because we kept being cut off and Sarah was sitting next to me reading what we wrote and asking questions about our proposed trip. While we were writing to him we got a little carried away, taking our cue from his hot voice, and were making comments on the side to each other about hot turkish men, discussing his profile and photo and how exciting it might be to have a turkish fling and what that might entail. We were being stupid girls talking rubbish about a fantasy boy...except fantasy boy in the middle of our chat about our holiday said...
by the way,
'I can hear everything.'
Needless to say, we were mortified, I haven't laughed that hard or felt so embarrassed in ages. Turns out he's younger than both of us (only a month younger than me) and he said it's okay to flirt. We're friends now and while I'm writing this he's still chatting with us in his very broken English. He must be rich too, he owns the entire fleet of boats at alaturka cruises, has a restaurant in Thailand, a travel agency and a real estate agency. He apologised for listening but he said it was very funny and that two kiwi boys had been laughing along with him. So the lesson is: always chek your mic is unplugged! ALWAYS.
I don't know whether I'll be able to go on a cruise with his company now but it was a thoroughly entertaining evening if nothing else.

I'm back... Just been to Wimbledon to find a backpack for my trip to Barcelona so I can look like a real tourist type. I found a dirty pink and blue one that matches my jacket, those of you who know me really well will understand I like to match. Anyway on the way to the bus stop Sarah and I stopped at the Walkabout, an aussie bar that's been franchised, to buy tickets for Prime Circle in London on 7 June 2006. Cool hey? Anyone want to come?
I've been a terrible blogger, especially in comparison to Ad. In the middle of third year mayhem he still manages to keep that blog running smoothly. I have no excuse really and don't really feel like making one up, but this what's been going on:
On Tuesday I started a supply post for three weeks, so I've completed week one, tomorrow, week two starts and after the half term break, which starts on Friday, I have another week. The school is an all girls school in Norbury so I can get on a bus in the morning and just relax. This is instead of being shoved into the sweaty armpit of some overgrown pommie each time the tube I'm on lurches in another direction and then having to look pleased about it, as if I truly did not mind testing the anti-perspirant's odour shielding abilities as the armpit's owner looks to me for confirmation that it's not him that's stinking out the carriage.
Anyway, so the travelling's better but so are the girls!!!! I have only had one crappy day and now, touch wood, it seems to be getting better, they're getting used to me and on Friday as I left I even got little sheepish waves and 'bye Miss' as I walked to the bus stop. I haven't heard 'oh you're doin' me head in' or 'yeah but no but yeah but' if I ask for an explanation on WHY it is necessary in an English lesson to be disrupted by detailed bedroom antics of a thirteen year old and I haven't even been told where to get off at this school so it's really good. The staff are also lovely, we had sparkling wine on Friday at lunch before the last two lessons, it was a teacher's birthday, but hey the wine really did make the last two lessons fly by.
On Friday night Hails and I went to the Davinci Code Premiere in Leicester Sq. Hmmm well we were there as were the BBC and loads of paparazzi but there were no celebs, not one. Everyone got it wrong. Because it was a world premiere in Cannes there were no other premieres in any other cities in the world, it didn't matter it was quite fun, we think we were on TV and we made friends with one of the photographers (typical the one I choose to talk to is the only South African photographer there), he gave us his card and said that we should email him and whenever he hears from his agency about another one he'll ley us know, cool hey so if the teaching doesn't work out I can be a celeb spotter, the chances - I'd get bored.
Anyway, Saturday night was Kate Dold's farewell party, she's heading home on Friday and is unbelievably excited. It was a survivor theme so there were different tribes named after places in London. I had to wear red and was on the Bloody Brixton team (brixton is DODGY and dangerous). Not much was planned and everyone milled around for most of the afternoon, eventually I'd had enough and ventured home to wathc the Prince's trust 30th Birthday concert on the telly (watch it if you can - Ben Elton is hilarious). There were limited tickets and you had to enter competetions to win them and I didn't, it was at the Tower of London and looked like a really good concert.
So now it's Sunday, weekly shop day. I am also off to find a backpack for my trek around Barcelona and with high hopes for a sunny couple of days - sunscreen, one more week! Sorry no photos but it isn't right to take photos of children you teach and post them on the internet.
I'm not reading this again so if there are speling, punctuation; or mistakes of grammar, tough.

Last night I went to visit Leigh in Southfields. We had pizza, wine, and of course ICE CREAM!!!!

Roald and I outside after pizza and a few glasses of wine. Such a fun night to chill with good friends, and just laugh and laugh.

Have a good week everyone, just 3 weeks until Barcelona! Lucky fish hey. Planning to see the stage production of Mary Poppins next week, really looking forward to it. The tickets are 55 pounds, bit extravagent but there's a special at the moment where you can get a 2 course meal and good seats for that price so hopefully I can jump on the band wagon. I'll let you know of course. Enjoy your Mondays.
IRELAND:The Cliff's of Mohr: this is where Westlife filmed one of their music videos, cool hey!!!! (Which one? I have NO idea). It was unbelievably windy when we were there, Mom and I are clutching the "please do not go beyond this point" sign as Ad takes the photo, to prevent ourselves being blown away, and yes we are beyond the sign, but we're still touching it! The camera has actually been blown over my arm by the force of the wind and holding the sign tightly was my main preoccupation hence you can't actually see my eyes in the photo, looking pragtig really wasn't something I was worrying about at this point in time.
Does this actually need an explanation? I think not.
These are the cliffs, in case you hadn't guessed. Westlife's music video had the 5 of them singing standing near the edge of them...if ANYONE knows which song it was, make a comment and let me know, and those of you going 'urgh Westlife'... shut up :-)
Again, need I say more... just don't do it, you will fall off!

So, this blog thing... has anyone seen the comment from 'Gary', whoever he is? So apparently there's a way to be a blogger: type out random thoughts that come into your head for the world to read, instead of noting down things that you've done or using the blog as a way to keep people up to date with what's going on in your life, apparently there is a correct way to blog and I just don't have it, so let's do it Gary's way (just for today).

Why is it that people need to blog? Why do some many people in the world feel that the only way they can express themselves, say exactly what they feel or just "talk" bollocks is in a basically anonymous way? Do they not have family or friends that know them and understand them and their random ramblings and they therefore feel they need to hide a part of themselves from the world, well the world you actually interact with, the world that can make judgements that you are aware of? and instead have to show themselves to strangers, in a cyber world where no judgement need cause you to look at yourself in a different light and possibly change and grow, where whoever has something to say about your blog is actually another poor lonely soul with no one who truly knows them, someone you can brush off and continue a life where you never have to question yourself and so are constantly safe in this bubble of falsity you've created for yourself because you are too scared to talk to a real person, tell them something bizarre, just because it's in your head. I pity people who don't have people around them that know them to such an extent that when you voice the craziness in your head they laugh or better yet share a similar thought of their's with you. Everyone's crazy to some degree, it's only the fun ones, the ones who are comfortable with themselves that can show the world who they are, the real world that it is and not just cyber space!

Right I think that that was pretty good for a traditional blog posting, and from now on it's my style.

Funky hey? This is not a posed picture, we were a bit confused, and we weren't the only ones, other tourist types came along and struck the same pose with the correct ooing and aahing as well, it's pretty cool though? It's in the grounds at Blarney Castleby the way.
I forgot to upload the photos from where the druids lived so they're here now. This is Mom and Ad on the druid's wishing steps, look at the thinking pose. I've now written druid so many times the word's meaningless, strange word isn't it?
This is me in a druid's cave. My head is at ground level and when you're inside there's this cool little "window" which you can look out of and see the feet of the people going by.

So now there are 2 new posts and I have to go because I'm feeling guilty about doing this instead of filling in application forms. Sleep tight everyone, last day for me at crappieset school ever tomorrow, yay yay yay, well maybe not ever, at least I haven't had huge bins of water chucked at me or been threatened by two 15 year old girls who I am sure had knives on them, that was the first day I taught in England. This school is just filled with children who've been removed from mainstream education. It's been okay, I've taught drama for 5 weeks, but I'm tired of it now, time for a change...the beauty of supply work, night.
Okay, so taking some time from filling in application forms to fill you in on Ireland a little. We were there for 3 days so it was a pretty short trip but we certainly did lots of stuff. We decided to go to the smaller places in Ireland rather than spend three days in Dublin. We went to Limmerick, Blarney, The Cliffs of Moher, and Lahinch, we stayed in Ennis. This photo is Ad and Mom in the gardens at Blarney castle, which is in the background. We did kiss the Blarney stone, an Irish tradition to obtain the gift of eloquence (not that that was a problem before). We also wondered around the old haunts of the Druids and Addy found his leprechaun hat, see the photos below. It really is a beautiful place, when in Ireland if you get a chance, go there, and KISS THE STONE.

If you see a leprechaun, grab it and never let it go, they are sneaky creatures and will try to escape at any possible opportunity, and if you want to find the gold at the end of the rainbow you had better hold tight!!!!

It's been a while and I know brother's been getting irritated because when he checks my blog there's no new news. Unfortunately I had to put my blogging on hold for a while because I had to get my life in order. For those of you who don't know I'm applying to do Clinical Masters in Psychology next year, this means I have to write essays again, on topics such as "Why do you want to be a clinical psychologist?" and " Write an informal self-description. Mention some of the factors which you believe to be strengths in relation to your effectiveness as a clinical psychologist and some areas which you feel could usefully be strengthened or developed further." I also have to write autobiographical essays as well as essays stating what I want to do with the rest of my life. It's all a bit much and takes ages to get everything you need together, hence the lack of blog time. Anyway as far as I'm concerned if you can complete an application pack for a masters programme then you should just get the degree. Who even knows if I'll get in I might be considered too young, I wonder what I'll do next year if I don't get in? hmmm... Oh well that's only potentially a problem, think positively everyone and I will post photos and continue telling and showing what I've been up to as soon as I can, at the moment I have to focus and stop PROCRASTINATING!
